An allergy blood test covering pollens, dust mites, moulds, pets, latex and common foods. It suits people with hay fever, itchy skin or food reactions wanting a wide view.
What this test is for
The Comprehensive Inhalant and Food Allergy Blood Test measures total IgE and specific IgE antibodies to a wide range of allergens. It covers grasses including rye, timothy and meadow fescue, tree pollens such as birch, hazel and oak, ragweed and nettle. House dust mites, German cockroach and six moulds and yeasts are included. So are cat, dog and horse dander, latex, and foods including milk, egg, peanut, hazelnut, soya, wheat, beef, cod and shellfish.
It suits people with seasonal sneezing, itchy eyes or skin, wheeze, or reactions to food. It covers far more allergens than our Inhalant and Food Allergy Blood Test.
Your report gives a level for each allergen. An allergy blood test shows sensitisation, meaning your immune system has made antibodies. This is not the same as a confirmed allergy. A clinician should read your results with your history.
