PCOS Check

What this test is for
The PCOS Check measures five markers often looked at when polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is being considered. It includes total testosterone and SHBG, a protein that carries testosterone in the blood, and works out the free androgen index from the two. It also adds LH and FSH, brain signals that guide your cycle.
Women with irregular or missed periods, acne, thinning hair or extra facial hair often choose it. It is a focused hormone test you can do with a finger prick kit at home. Our PCOS Plus adds AMH, adrenal hormones, blood sugar, cholesterol and thyroid.
Each level is set against its reference range in your report. A raised testosterone or free androgen index, or a high LH compared with FSH, can prompt a talk with your GP. Symptoms and scans matter too, so these results are one part of the picture.
