What this test is for
The Female Fertility Hormone Profile measures seven markers linked to egg supply, ovulation and thyroid health. It includes anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH), which reflects how many eggs remain in the ovaries, plus FSH, LH, oestradiol and prolactin. It also looks at TSH and free T4, as the thyroid plays a part in fertility.
Women planning a pregnancy, thinking about egg freezing, or with irregular periods often choose it. Compared with our Female Fertility Check, it adds AMH and thyroid tests. You can use a finger prick kit at home or visit our Hull clinic.
A sample on day 2 to 5 of your cycle suits FSH, LH and oestradiol best. AMH can help you plan but cannot show whether you will get pregnant. A result outside the range can prompt a repeat test or a talk with your GP or fertility clinic.
