Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) Blood Test

The Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) Blood Test measures AMH, a hormone made by the small follicles in the ovaries that hold developing eggs. Your AMH level gives a picture of ovarian reserve, meaning roughly how many eggs remain. It stays fairly steady through the cycle, so you can test on any day.

Many women use it when thinking about when to start a family, when considering egg freezing or fertility care, or simply out of curiosity. You can give a finger prick sample at home or visit our Hull clinic.

Your report places your AMH level against its reference range. It does not tell you whether you can get pregnant now, as egg quality and many other factors matter. A low or high level can be a reason to talk with your GP or a fertility clinic, or to add other hormone tests.
