AMH, Prolactin and Thyroid Check

An AMH, prolactin and thyroid check for women thinking about fertility, measuring egg reserve alongside two hormones that can affect the cycle. Finger prick sampling at home is available.

What this test is for

The AMH, Prolactin and Thyroid Check measures three hormones worth looking at together when you are thinking about fertility. AMH (anti-Mullerian hormone) gives a picture of ovarian reserve, the number of eggs remaining. Prolactin, made by the pituitary gland, and TSH, the main thyroid control hormone, can both affect ovulation and periods when out of range.

It helps women planning a pregnancy now or in the future, those with irregular periods, and anyone wanting more than an AMH test alone. You can collect a finger prick sample at home or visit our Hull clinic.

The report lists each of the three results against its reference range. AMH gives useful context for planning, but it does not show whether you can get pregnant. A result outside the range can prompt a repeat test or a conversation with your GP or fertility clinic.
