What this test is for
Rather than total B12 alone, the Advanced Vitamin B12 Blood Test measures active B12, the part your cells can use. It adds folate, which works closely with B12, and ferritin, which shows your iron stores. A full blood count completes the picture, including red cell size, which can change when B12, folate or iron run low.
